Colony Activities - April 2025
Tuesday, April 29 - Speed Friending
All Colony residents are encouraged to participate in our Speed Friendship Building activity at 2 p.m. in The 19th Hole. Residents will sit across from each other with conversation prompt cards and visit and get to know each other. Once the time goes off one resident in each pair will move to the next resident and be given time to get to know them. This activity will last for one hour. Our hope is that you will leave having built new friendships. Light refreshments will be served. Sign up online by NOON on Friday, April 25.
Wednesday, April 30 - Potluck Meal
Join us in The 19th Hole for a potluck lunch. BBQ Ham sandwiches, drinks and paper products will be provided. The meal will take place at 12:30 p.m. in The 19th Hole.
Please sign up to bring a dish to share. Residents 90 years and older are not asked to prepare a dish. The cost per person is $3 and will go on your monthly bill. Sign up online by NOON on Friday, April 25.
Wednesday, April 30 - Spiritual Fieldtrip
Chaplain Pat invites you to join us on Wednesday, April 30 for a spiritual fieldtrip. The bus will begin picking up at 10:15 a.m. and return around 12:15 p.m. Our fieldtrip is to Breath in Yoga in Meadville for a deeper look into music bowls and the healing practices of sound bathing. There will be a $4.24 per person transportation fee on your monthly bill.
The potluck lunch is being pushed back to 12:30 p.m. so residents attending the fieldtrip can also attend the lunch. Sign up online by NOON on Monday, April 28.

Thursday, May 1 - A Day in Canfield, OH
The bus will begin picking up at 10 a.m. for a day in Canfield, OH. We will have an early lunch at Piccadilly Tea Parlour followed by a trip to White House Fruit Farms to see their beautiful tulips and do some shopping. There will be a $11.12 per person transportation fee on your monthly bill and you are responsible for any purchases that you make. Sign up online by NOON on Friday, April 25.
Friday, May 2 - Coffee & Donuts
Stop in The Gathering Place between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. for coffee and donuts. (while supplies last)
Monday, May 5 - Men & Women's Chat Groups
The Men and Women's Chat Groups will meet today at 10 a.m. The men will meet in The Gathering Place and the women will meet in the library. Sign up online by NOON on Friday, May 2.
Thursday, May 6 - Movie and Popcorn
The movie "You Gotta Believe" will play in The 19th Hole at 1 p.m. Popcorn and drinks will be provided. Sign up online by NOON on Friday, May 2.
Wednesday, May 7 - Monthly Birthday Celebration
All Colony residents are invited to the monthly birthday celebration at 1 p.m. in the 19th Hole. If you're celebrating a birthday this month, we'd love to see you there and celebrate you. Sign up online by NOON on Friday, May 2.
Thursday, May 8 - Culinary Passport Dinner
The bus will begin picking up at 5:15 p.m. for a special dinner at Peter Allen Inn in Kinsman. Tonight's dinner is the restaurant's last stop on their Culinary Passport Dinner Series. Journey to Portugal through its flavors! This menu features traditional Portuguese dishes with wine pairings that highlight the country's renowned winemaking heritage. The cost of the dinner is $60 per person and will go on your monthly bill, as well as a $3 per person transportation fee. Sign up online by NOON on Friday, May 2. Signing up early is beneficial as the restaurant may run out of spots.

Resident Presentation: Mary Ellen Bayuk - "The Insiders Perspective on Administration in Higher Education"
"Working in a university as an administrator can be a rewarding career, because it involves working with students and helping them succeed" Mary Ellen Bayuk, who worked in higher education as an administrator for 45 years, will discuss her rewarding and not so rewarding years at The University of Pittsburgh, St. Vincent College, Kind Saud University, and finally Penn State University. This will take place in The 19th Hole at 2 p.m. Sign up online by NOON on Friday, May 9.
Friday, May 16 - Annual Greenhouse Tour
Join us today for our annual greenhouse tour. We will visit three to four greenhouses and load the bus with a beautiful variety of plants for all your gardening needs. The bus will begin picking up at 9:30 a.m. and return around 2 p.m. Please bring a sack lunch to eat on the bus. There will be a $7 per person transportation fee on your monthly bill and you are responsible for any purchases that you make. Sign up online by NOON on Friday, May 9.
Sunday, May 18 - ACTS Performing Arts Center
Join us today to see St. Paul's own Dawn Hartman take to the stage in the Agatha Christie Mystery: And Then There Were None, presented by ACTS Performing Arts Center in Sharon. The bus will begin picking up at 1:30 p.m. and return around 5:30 p.m. A $25 per person ticket fee and a $3.71 per person transportation fee will go on your monthly bill. Sign up online by NOON on Friday, May 9. Signing up early is beneficial as the theatre could sell out.
